About Debra

Auckland’s go-to marriage celebrant.

A good ceremony isn’t about the celebrant. It’s about two people, and a room full of everyone who got them there. Debra Houghton’s job is to bring those people together and then get out of the way.

Debra is a registered marriage celebrant based in Auckland. She became a celebrant because she loves bringing two people together.

What she loves most is the connection: the minute before the ceremony starts, when two families who barely know each other are sitting side by side, and the minute after, when they’re not strangers anymore.

She’s also the person you want holding the paperwork. Outside of weddings, Debra runs The Family Office Admin, an administration business, so the details, deadlines and legal forms are in very safe hands.

Your ceremony starts with a conversation. Tell Debra a little about your plans and she’ll take it from there.

Why Debra

  • She’s in it for the right reason. Debra became a celebrant because she loves bringing two people together, and it shows in every ceremony she leads.

  • Your ceremony is yours. Nothing is copied from the last wedding. It’s written around your story, in the tone you choose.

  • The legal side is handled. As a registered marriage celebrant with a background in administration, Debra keeps the paperwork accurate and on time.

  • She’s a calm presence. On the day, Debra keeps things running smoothly so you can stay in the moment.
